Ni Sun-Suslow, Ph.D.

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Sun-Suslow is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California. She specializes in working with adults and older adults with neurological and psychiatric disorders. She helps diagnose brain disorders, assess cognitive and behavioral functioning, and design effective treatment plans.

Her approach to neuropsychological assessment and treatment planning is an assimilative process that relies on evidence-based practice, the interplay among neurobiology, cognition, and behavior, and a culturally-sensitive appreciation for individual patients. She favors flexibility and collaboratively tailoring individual assessments/treatments to maximize each patient’s overall functioning and quality of life. 

She received her doctorate from University of Miami with a specialization in Health Psychology and completed an APA-Accredited predoctoral internship at the University of California, San Diego/VA San Diego Healthcare System joint training program. She completed a 2-year National Institutes of Health (NIH), T32-funded postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in Clinical Neuropsychology. In addition to outpatient services, Dr. Sun-Suslow provides consultations at the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP). 

Her clinical practice is informed by up-to-date and cutting-edge research. She has presented at dozens of national and international conferences and has authored numerous, peer-reviewed publications. She is a member of International Neuropsychological Society (INS), National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN), Asian Neuropsychological Association (ANA), Monterey Bay Psychological Association (MBPA), and California Psychological Association (CPA).
